In 1953, Vic Cassano, Sr., along with his mother-in-law, Caroline “Mom” Donisi, opened a small, 20 by 15 foot space in Kettering, Ohio, serving up a family recipe that would become an Ohio favorite: the original “Dayton-style” pizza. Over the decades, Cassano’s Pizza King® grew from a local pizzeria to an iconic brand, earning a place in pizza history with its signature thin, salty crust and unique “party-cut” suqares.
